Students love to sleep through lecture, they never do it purpose, but accidentally. As a student, i sleep too, not often but i guarantee its more than often. Student probably never want to go to bed earlier, they will stay up longer without even care about the morning class on the next day. These problem will affect student academic, so there is three ways to help student stay alert whenever they attend their class. There are, eat balance food, using natural methods and having a proper sleeping time.
Students should eat balanced food. Nowadays, students have a bad habit, they never eat breakfast before they go to school. They wake up late, and rush for time, they are too busy to prepare their own breakfast.When we skip breakfast we are likely to become tired because our brain had run low on fuel. By mid-morning, we might grab a cup of coffee to keep us alerted and energized. People said, we should eat breakfast like king, lunch like civilian dinner like beggar. I think that is a great suggestion. Other than that, i advise students to eat accordingly to the food pyramid,such as more fruits,cereal and less tit-bits,more healthier and will keep us feel fresh all the time.
Besides,the common solution we knew was caffeine usually keeps our mind conscious and think better. However,with excessive caffeine might cause effect on one's body. So, natural methods is much better in helping student. Exercise for a short period before we go to class, we will feel tired at first, but then energized us and keep us awake.Students are advised to exercise regularly. On the other hand, we also can make ourselves to be busy in that class, such participating ourselves in the discussion, take notes when teacher is teaching front or ask question whenever we feel the need of dozing off. Sometimes, students can also bring some music along whenever they are on the way to school, to clear their exhausted mind.By the way, these are some natural methods for students never take caffeine.
The most important things is students must have a proper sleeping time.Students have no much reason to stay up long in the night. We should get good night's sleep before the next day, better sleep between 10pm to 11pm. A good sleep must take at least 8 hours, so we must not abuse our time doing unnecessary things. It is not a bad things to rest your eyes,if you not do so, i am sure that your cheek is on the table during the lesson. The best way is taking a nap, 15 to 30 minutes will do, so that you feel refreshed when you get up. Remember to get enough sleep, start now, before you getting more and more miserable.
Last but not least, I think to stay awake in class have more others methods to overcome. Above was some suggestion from me.Lost attention in class might cause serious problem, so students should start doing their part if they don't want these to happen on them.

Good essay but there are some words that are not so suitable ya. For instance your second main idea is to use natural method to keep awake, but the rest of the methods, for example to sleep earlier and do exercises are also natural methods, so perhaps can use another word, for example, to be awake in class, we must change the way we act in class, then you can use the points of answering, sitting in front, asking questions, etc :)
There are some grammar errors that I hope to bring to your attention ^^ for example:
1.there is three ways ...should be are because of 3 ways...
2.There are, eat balance food, using natural methods and having a proper sleeping time.
There are is incorrect because you are pointing to the 3 ways, and it should be these ways are...
